The 10 Best Games of LeBron James Career

LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Throughout his illustrious career, he has put up some of the most remarkable performances the NBA has ever seen. Here, we rank his ten best career games.

1. March 3, 2014 – Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Bobcats

  • Stat Line: 61 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 blocks, 0 steals
  • Shooting: FG 22-33, 3P 8-10, FT 9-12
  • Score: 124-107 (Win)

Arguably the greatest scoring game of LeBron’s career, dropping a career-high 61 points. His efficiency from the field and beyond the arc was mesmerizing, marking this as his top performance. The team was without Dwyane Wade, as Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier and Toney Douglas started alongside LeBron and Chris Bosh.

The Bobcats (RIP) got 38 points and 19 rebounds from Big Al Jefferson.

2. November 3, 2017 – Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards

  • Stat Line: 57 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals
  • Shooting: FG 23-34, 3P 2-4, FT 9-9
  • Score: 130-122 (Win)

In a dominant display of skill, LeBron tallied 57 points with a commanding presence on both ends of the floor, making it one of his most comprehensive games ever.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 36 points on 12-for-19 from the field and 11-for-13 from the FT line.

3. February 3, 2011 – Miami Heat vs. Orlando Magic

  • Stat Line: 51 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 block, 1 steal
  • Shooting: FG 17-25, 3P 3-5, FT 14-17
  • Score: 104-100 (Win)

LeBronā€™s sheer dominance on the court was highlighted in this close win over the Magic, where he showcased his scoring prowess along with a double-double.

The Magic could have spoiled the party, but Dwight Howard went just 3-for-13 from the FT line.

4. January 15, 2008 – Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Memphis Grizzlies

  • Stat Line: 51 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 block, 3 steals
  • Shooting: FG 18-28, 3P 6-12, FT 9-16
  • Score: 132-124 (Win, OT)

In an overtime thriller, LeBron was everywhere, delivering a sensational game with over 50 points, along with a near triple-double. This was Superhero Bron, as he carried Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes and Sasha Pavlovic in the starting lineup.

Juan Carlos Navarro chipped in 26 points off the bench for the Grizzlies, who were led by Rudy Gay‘s 30.

5. December 30, 2009 – Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Atlanta Hawks

  • Stat Line: 48 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals
  • Shooting: FG 15-23, 3P 4-6, FT 14-16
  • Score: 106-101 (Win)

Just shy of 50 points, LeBron led the Cavs to victory with an efficient scoring night and a solid double-double. This Cavs group included Shaquille O’Neal and Mo Williams, and would end up winning 61 games.

Joe Johnson stood toe-to-toe with LeBron for most of the game, scoring 35 points on the night, but couldn’t stop the bleeding in the 4th quarter, where the Hawks were outscored 29-16.

6. January 16, 2023 – Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets

  • Stat Line: 48 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, 0 blocks, 0 steals
  • Shooting: FG 16-26, 3P 5-10, FT 11-12
  • Score: 140-132 (Win)

LeBron showed he still has what it takes to dominate the game, scoring 48 points in a high-scoring affair against the Rockets, despite missing teammates Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves. Russell Westbrook stepped in to contribute off the bench with 24 points on 9-for-16 from the field.

Alperen Sengun put up 33 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and four blocks in the loss.

7. May 20, 2009 – Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic

  • Stat Line: 49 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals
  • Shooting: FG 20-30, 3P 3-6, FT 6-10
  • Score: 106-107 (Loss)

Despite the loss, LeBronā€™s performance was nothing short of heroic, almost single-handedly keeping his team in the game against a tough Orlando squad in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Cavs bench scored just five points, all by Joe Smith. Wally Szczerbiak, Ben Wallace and Boobie Gibson combined for zero points in 26 minutes.

8. November 14, 2018 – Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers

  • Stat Line: 44 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal
  • Shooting: FG 13-19, 3P 5-6, FT 13-15
  • Score: 126-117 (Win)

LeBron was highly effective and almost notched a triple-double, showing his all-around game and leading the Lakers to a solid win over the Blazers. It was only five years ago, but it feels fake to see Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart and Ivica Zubac on that team.

9. February 26, 2013 – Miami Heat vs. Sacramento Kings

  • Stat Line: 40 points, 8 rebounds, 16 assists, 1 block, 2 steals
  • Shooting: FG 14-23, 3P 1-2, FT 11-12
  • Score: 141-129 (Win, 2OT)

In a double-overtime battle, LeBron did it all, not just scoring 40 points but also dishing out 16 assists, displaying his incredible versatility. This was prime Big-Three era, with Wade adding 39, Bosh scoring 15 and Ray Allen with 21 off the bench.

Marcus Thornton — yes you read that right — scored 36 points off the bench, making 8-for-12 from the 3-point line.

10. March 5, 2022 – Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors

  • Stat Line: 56 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 0 steals
  • Shooting: FG 19-31, 3P 6-11, FT 12-13
  • Score: 124-116 (Win)

In a vintage LeBron performance, he torched the Warriors for 56 points, adding to his legacy as one of the game’s greatest clutch performers. The Lakers would outscore Golden State 35-22 in the fourth quarter, with LeBron scoring 16 in the final frame.

While every game in this list showcases LeBron’s extraordinary talent, the ones at the top stand out for their combination of high scoring, efficiency, and winning impact. James’ ability to perform at the highest level in a variety of waysā€”scoring, playmaking, rebounding, and defendingā€”solidifies his status as an all-time great.
